Banning plastic bags will hurt businesses, consumers
Did you know that there are 30 companies with 1,500 employees who manufacture plastic bags in New York state? New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo is hoping to ban plastic bags on a state level, but a ban would have serious adverse impacts on small businesses and their employees, as well as on consumers and the environment. The Buffalo News recently published an op-ed from the Competitive Enterprise Institute detailing the realities of a ban.
