Restricting plastic bags a bad idea for NH

This week, the New Hampshire House of Representatives passed House Bill 560, which seeks to ban the use of thin plastic carryout bags. The New Hampshire Union Leader published an op-ed from John Dumais, president and CEO of the NH Grocers Association. He states that instead of trying to work with the store-take back programs for recycling plastic bags, the sponsors of HB 560 seek to penalize customers with a 10-cent tax on every shopping bag provided by the stores.
