There are better ways than banning plastic bags to protect planet

In a recent opinion piece on the Democrat & Chronicle, the author states while she tries hard to reduce her carbon footprint, she is now stockpiling plastic bags so she can reuse them for other purposes. And when it comes to reusable bags, she suspects that most people (including herself) don’t wash them enough.
